About Us

From humble beginnings when the very first body piercing studio in Australia opened its doors in 1991, teaching new piercers has been part of my life. In the days before the internet, and fellow Piercers to talk to, I decided to begin developing quality piercing training that would allow anyone who had the desire to learn to pierce to always have access to the most up-to-date methods available.

Initially I resisted the idea of putting my knowledge down on paper and making it available in a course type structure. I remember the day clearly when this changed. One of my favourite clients came in for a piercing and told me that she had just enrolled in a 1-day piercing course because she wanted to learn. I told her that she would never be able to learn everything she needed to know that way and then she said “well what choice did I have? You won’t teach me”. That got me thinking.

Whilst I still believed that it was impossible to teach everything in a day - who said I had to? So I decided that I’d need 8 days to thoroughly cover all of the foundation material needed to safely put a needle in someone’s hand. It was then that The Piercing Urge Training Centre was born back in 2004.

Since then there has been lots of new material added and content updated as new, better, and easier ways have been developed. We have been pleased to share these developments with our students as they happen.

The structure of the Level 1 training has also been streamlined to allow easier access to our information for everyone no matter where you live!!! This has been exciting for us to teach students from all over Australia, New Zealand, and beyond. Ideally you have internet access, although phone has worked well for one student in Papua New Guinea.

We are proud to offer you the very best in body piercing training to anyone keen to learn this extremely rewarding skill.
